Efforts to save infants in legal test

MADISON — "The state Supreme Court is considering whether doctors must try to save infants even when they conclude the children have no chance of living."

"An attorney for the mother of a baby who died at a Madison hospital in 1999 told the justices on Thursday that doctors should have tried to resuscitate the infant. Meriter Hospital’s attorney responded that doctors determined they could not have saved the baby even with efforts to give him fluids and oxygen."

Drs. Determined, without trying? How do they determine whether or not rescusitation would work, unless of course the baby was deceased for a long period of time.

"The question facing the court is whether a 1986 federal law forces
hospitals to try to save the lives of newborn babies even when doctors believe
treatment would be useless.

Federal regulators issued rules in 2003 allowing hospitals to deny
emergency treatment to people they’ve already admitted, “but it’s an open
question as to whether it would apply to a newborn,” he said.

Preston gave birth to Bridon, a 1½-pound boy, on Nov. 10, 1999, one day
after she was admitted to the hospital complaining of fluid leakage at just over
23 weeks pregnant.
Doctors warned Preston her son’s lungs were not developed enough for his
survival and declined to treat the boy once he was born, despite pleas from
Preston and the boy’s father. The baby died at the hospital less than three
hours later."

Whoa. 23 weeks? Many a baby have survived at that age. I was informed when my Granddaughter was delivered at 19 1/2 weeks gestation that if she were just a little bit older 22 weeks and up she would have had a chance, a slim one, but a chance none-the-less. We are heading down a slippery Slope here.

"Preston’s attorney, Thomas Marzen, said the baby had at least a 66 percent
chance of surviving based on his weight..."

"Hospital lawyers say doctors concluded before the infant was born he would
not survive. They argue the federal law — the Emergency Medical Treatment and
Labor Act — requires hospitals to treat patients only in emergency rooms, not
hospital delivery wards." Read...

Another Hospital killing off Innocent BABIES!

Another Baby being put to death. Doctors at Memorial Hermann Hospital said they would stop treating 5 month old Knya Dismute-Howard.

Knya was diagnosed with Luekemia shortly after her birth, during the course of treatment she also developed a skin infection.
doctors are now giving her parents 10 days to find another hospital , they will stop treatment and let her die.

"Her mind is fully there," said the baby's mother, Tamiko Dismuke-Howard. "She knows when we are there. I can't give up because she won't give up."

Texas has a Futile Care Bill which states Drs. can stop treating a patient based on their quality of life and ability to pay.

Since leukemia is treatable, many children have successfully gone into remission, I doubt quality of life is the issue here, I believe it is more then likely that the parents may not have quality health insurance. The article doesnt state whether this is a factor, but I am suspicious.

Unconscious Australian Woman's Fate Unsure

I would like to think that Terri Schindler had something to do with the decision the judge made here.

Maria Korp had been missing for several days when she was found choked and
unconscious in the trunk of her car in the southern city of Melbourne on Feb.
13. She had been trapped there for five days.
Her husband, Joe Korp, 47, and
his former lover, Tania Herman, 38, were arrested and charged with attempted
murder, conspiracy to murder and intentionally causing serious injury. Both are
in custody pending trial.

Doctors at the hospital where Korp's 50-year-old wife is being treated say
she is unresponsive to external stimulation and that she receives her food and
oxygen through tubes.
They said she stands a 50 percent chance of survival
if her breathing apparatus is switched off, but that she would certainly die
within weeks if her feeding tube is removed.

"The main concern that will come up (in court) is whether that person is
capable of acting in the best interests of (the unconscious) person," Cannold
said. She said Korp's husband "clearly has a conflict of interest" because he
could face a murder charge if she dies. " READ

Too bad Judge Greer didnt see the conflict of interest in Terri's Case. Perhaps she would still be alive today if he had.

Why are some people fighting the Abstinence issue? The Answers may Surprise You.

This morning I was reading Rebecca Hagelin's column about Pornography, and how it is becoming a not-so-big-deal. If you have kids, Read this. While you're at it, Rebecca Just Published a Book called "Home Invasion", I recommend anyone who cares anything about Kids, family, and the good ole American way of Life to read it.

In the editorial she mentioned Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., anti-abstinence stand. Which got me thinking, "Why would anyone be against abstince especially when it comes to our kids? The answer to most questions like this are follow the money trail.

Would could be the reason for promoting promuscuity? The Pharmacueticals could make more money with their anti-pregnancy fixes. Well it may be true that alot more people are tanking their money on big Pharmas then the usual commodities, my gut said that wasn't the whole answer.

Money could be made by the abortionists, but most of them aren't big corporations that one would take stock in. But the flip side of it is. The companies dealing with Medical research, and body parts.

Many years ago I remember hearing something about baby parts being traded and sold. Same with regular Adult body parts. I also remember hearing that it was in another country.
A little digging and googling proved me right and wrong. There is a market, and it isn't just other countries. It Is HERE!

From Pregnant Pause:
In 1999 evidence came to light that abortionists were selling body parts from aborted babies for use in medical research, transplants, or whatever other uses one might have.

Life Dynamics, the organization that has done the most to bring this affair to light, has accumulated an enormous amount of documentary evidence to substantiate their charges. I have before me a collection of over 60 papers that they have obtained that document sales of fetal body pars.

Most of these are matter-of-fact descriptions of body parts wanted with descriptions of how they are to be prepared and shipped. Several helpfully give a Federal Express account number that can be billed for the shipping charges.

Perhaps the most chilling is a price list from a company called "Opening Lines", that simply lists body parts and prices, like "Livers ... $150", "Ears ... $75", "Eyes ... $75", "Brain ... $999", etc, with a conventional disclaimer at the bottom, "Prices in effect through December 31, 1999".

Furthermore, they even found someone who had been involved in some of these transactions and who now had a change of heart and was willing to speak out about it.

*Note: It is illegal to Sell Human Body Parts. One way around this, those involved claim the charges are for their time and cost in procurring the remains, Not for the remains themselves...Also changing the terminolgy such as , The men and women who obtain the fetal parts at the abortion clinics are called "technicians." The companies that act as middlemen between the technicians and the scientists are called "harvesters." To get around the law, the harvesters (middlemen) receive the fetal material as a "donation" from the abortion clinic. In return, the abortion clinic is paid a "site fee" for use of lab space at the clinic where they obtain the specimens. The harvesters then "donate" the baby parts to researchers. In return, the researchers "donate" the cost of the retrieval (rather than paying the harvesters for actual body parts) according to a formal price list. By buying and selling the unborn baby parts in this way, technically nothing is "sold," rather, everything is "donated." (If it walks like a duck....)

20/20 Did a show about this. The episode showed Opening Lines' founder, Dr. Miles Jones, discussing the profit in selling fetal parts to researchers. "If you have a guy that's desperate for, let's say, a heart, then he'll pay you whatever you ask," he said.
According to Life Dynamics literature, Jim and Brenda Bardsley founded the Anatomic Gift Foundation in 1994. They are purportedly located in several locations in the United States. Not all of the facilities market fetal tissue, but Life Dynamics has determined that the Anatomical Gift Foundation has set up a fetal tissue harvesting facility at the Mayfair Women's Clinic in Aurora, Colorado.

the 20/20 story featured a man, Dean Alberty, who had worked at both Opening Lines and the Anatomical Gift Foundation. He told ABC's Chris Wallace that both businesses altered abortions to get a better specimen of baby parts.

A review of purchase orders from both the Anatomical Gift Foundation and Opening Lines showed what body parts researchers were most interested in.

The University of California at San Francisco researcher, Dr. Deborah Froh, ordered fetal tissue. Dr. Froh's purchase order requested "Lung 14-24 (will specify with each request)." The 14-24 presumably means a lung from a 14-24 week old preborn baby.

Dr. Heidi Horner, associate director for CNS Pharmacology at Athena Neurosciences in South San Francisco requested "Intact brains preferred but large pieces of brain may be usable.

Dr. Reen Wu, an associate professor at the California Primate Research Center at UC Davis had a precise procedure for harvesting fetal tissue. "Dissect out entire trachea & bronchi intact whenever possible from fetal cadaver (needs to have at least 1/3 of total tissue), place Specimen in container with media ASAP. Store on wet ice". Dr. Wu requested, "1-5 samples per shipment. Requires 5 spec. [specimens] every month".

According to the purchase orders that Life Dynamics acquired, other Northern California researchers that bought fetal tissue included Jane Lebkowski, a senior director of research with Applied Immune Sciences in Menlo Park. Lebkowski requested "thymus, lymphoid node, liver, bone" for "monociaonal antibodies studies". The purchase order stated that the fetal tissue was to be harvested from babies who where "gestational age 15-22 weeks ... morphologically normal fetus." Additionally, she requested "Abstract chart for age, sex, blood type, medical history ... tissue to be removed under sterile conditions".

The California department of health services also seems to be buying pre-born baby parts. A "confidential protocol" by Dr. John F. Krowka at the California Department of Health Services Berkeley facility showed him ordering "liver, thymus & skin 18-24 wks."

Gloria Feldt, the President of Planned Parenthood, actually said this practice was inappropriate. She went on to say, ‘Where there is wrongdoing, it should be prosecuted. Did it stop anything?

The House passed a measure by voice vote urging its members to investigate whether private companies are violating federal law by profiting from the sale of fetal parts from abortions used in medical research. The resolution passed by voice vote, but some abortion advocates objected to language that referred to fetal tissue as ``baby body parts'' and said the authors were trying to inflame the debate over abortion.

Pro-life Rep. Tom Coburn (R-OK) said, ``We're inducing through the profit motive abortionists to put the life of their patients at risk for monetary gain.'' Under the premise that the sale would violate the interstate commerce clause, the resolution's three primary sponsors -- Tancredo, pro-life Reps. Joseph Pitts (R-PA) and Christopher Smith (R-NJ) -- noted in a letter to pro-life House Commerce Chair Thomas Bliley (R-VA) that while"current law permits the exploitation of aborted children for research federal law also prohibits any person 'to knowingly acquire, receive or otherwise transfer any human fetal tissue for valuable consideration if the transfer affects interstate commerce."

In 2001 a Kansas US Attorney decided that No Federal Law was broken in the sale of body parts by an abortion clinic.

"Acting US Attorney Jim Flory decided "after a thorough review of the issues involved," that there were no violations of federal statutes, indicating that the investigation had drawn to a close."- CNS news.

Is it any wonder why Late Term Partial Birth Abortion is supported and pushed so visciously.

Another need for fetal tissue is childhood vaccines. THATS RIGHT YOU ARE INJECTING YOUR BABIES WITH VACCINES GROWN ON THE FETAL CELLS OF AN ABORTED FETUS.

MRC-5 (Lung, diploid, human)
Derived from normal lung tissue of a 14-week-old male fetus by J. P. Jacobs in September 1966 (Nature 227: 168-170, 1970), the MRC-5 cell line was established in a growth medium consisting of Earle's Basal Medium in Earle's balanced salt solution supplemented with 10% calf serum. Following initial cultivation, subcultures were prepared twice weekly at a 1:2 ratio. When the cells reached approximately the 7th population doubling, the majority of the cultures were harvested to prepare a frozen cell stock. Subsequent observations revealed that the MRC-5 cells are capable of attaining 42-46 population doublings before onset of the decline in proliferation usually experienced with human fibroblast lines. The MRC-5 cell strain (like the WI-38 cell line) is susceptible to a wide range of human viruses.

Common UtilizationSupports the growth of a broad range of viruses, including Adenoviruses; Coxsackie A; Cytomegalovirus; Echovirus; Herpes simplex Virus; Poliovirus; Rhinovirus; Respiratory Syncytial Virus; and Varicella Zoster Virus. Also used for in vitro cytotoxicity testing.

WI-38 (Lung, diploid, human)
The WI-38 human diploid cell line was derived by L. Hayflick from normal embryonic (3-month gestation) lung tissue of a female (Exp. Cell Res. 25: 585, 1961). The growth medium used was Eagle's medium in Earle's balanced salt solution supplemented with 10% calf serum. The cells have a finite lifetime of 50 (plus or minus 10) population doublings with a doubling time of 24 hours (Exp. Cell Res. 37: 614, 1965). The cell line has been shown to have one of the broadest human virus spectra of any cell population that has been tested and is especially useful for isolation of rhinoviruses.

Supports the growth of a broad range of viruses, including Adenoviruses; Coxsackie A; Cytomegalovirus; Echovirus; Herpes simplex Virus; Poliovirus; Respiratory Syncytial Virus; Rhinovirus; and Varicella Zoster Virus. Also used for in vitro cytotoxicity testing.

SF (Foreskin, diploid, human)
The SF cell line was derived by ViroMed Laboratories from a normal, human foreskin (at birth) and has been found to be similar to other widely used human fibroblast lines. It has a finite life span of 40-50 population doublings before onset of senescence. The SF fibroblast cells are susceptible to a wide range of viruses.

Common UtilizationSupports the growth of a broad range of viruses, including Adenoviruses; Coxsackie A; Cytomegalovirus; Echovirus; Herpes simplex Virus; Poliovirus; and Varicella Zoster Virus. In addition, these cells are useful in the Clostridium difficile cytotoxin assay.

"In 1954, during discussions surrounding the development of adenovirus vaccines for use in the military, the U.S. Armed Forces Epidemiology Board (AFEB) recommended the use of "normal cells" as the substrate for vaccine production rather than cell lines established from human tumors....." --( I suspect this may be the reason we have such a high cancer rate in this country-Comments Mine)

"FDA would like the VRBPAC to consider the potential risks in using two novel cell substrates, 293 cells and PER.C6 cells. These cell lines were developed by transforming human embryonic kidney cells (293) and human embryonic retinal cells (PER.C6)...."

"First, viral vaccines are developed and manufactured in cell substrates that may be derived from humans, and all human cells represent a finite possibility of being derived from individuals with a propensity to develop sporadic or familial Creutzfeld-Jakob disease (CJD)....." ~(I dont know about anyone else, but I will NEVER take or allow my kids to take another shot of any form!)~

From the CDC: "CDC is aware that some, but not all, vaccines are made from human cell-line cultures, and some of these cell lines originated from aborted fetal tissue, ...."

Not to mention all the other "STUFF" in vaccines.

Back to my original question, "Why would anyone be against Abstinence? Any Questions?

Updated Info on "Angele and Baby Rowan"

World Magazine Obtained a more complete transcript which raises troubling questions as to what happened with the 911 call made by Angele's friend the morning baby Rowan was born.

For whatever the reason that Angele didnt feel safe carrying her baby to term (?) she opted for late term abortion after researching many clinics..."I had been terrorized. . . . I didn't feel I had any other choice," she said.

About an hour passed. Then, in a connected bathroom, Angele delivered Rowan into a toilet.

"The moment I saw Rowan . . . I cannot tell you the sickness that came over me and the self-loathing," Angele said. "I was miserable, sobbing. He was perfect, perfect . . . just tiny."

Then, she said, Rowan's leg moved. Next, she saw the tiny boy curl up as though cold. Angele says she screamed for clinic workers to call 911. One came and left twice without aiding either Rowan or Angele, who was covered in blood.

Frantic, Angele says she grabbed her cell phone and asked the friend who had driven her to the clinic to call 911.
At 10:22 a.m. and 10:29 a.m., the Orlando Fire Department (OFD) received calls requesting an ambulance to the EPOC Clinic:

Angele's Friend (AF): It's a women's clinic. . . . My friend is having an abortion and the baby was born alive. . . . They're not allowing her to use the phone there. They're wanting the baby to die!

OFD: She wants the baby to live?
AF: That's correct. . . . [She] said the baby was just born and it was alive and they were wanting her to leave it in the toilet and, uh, just let it die, and she's not wanting that to happen.

According to the OFD's incident report, Engine 4 (E-4), bearing a paramedic and two EMTs, arrived on the scene at 10:37 a.m. Two police officers also arrived, responding to an OFD call for back-up that said clinic workers wanted "to kill the baby."

But 22 minutes after that, fire personnel left. "No patient found . . . ," the OFD report says.

"E-4 responded to a disturbing the peace at the EPOC clinic.

OPD arrived on scene, handled incident.

No patient contact."

Though she had brief contact with police, Angele never saw medical personnel.

Questions blare: How did a request for emergency medical help turn into a "disturbing the peace" call?

With 911 calls reporting a life-and-death conflict over a baby, why didn't OFD medical personnel insist on examining the child?
Police and fire personnel who responded to the scene could not be reached for comment. Clinic owner James Pendergraft, who has served time in prison for extortion, would not comment on the incident.

Christians are the Anti-Christ?

According to U.S. Senator Ken Salazar they are. Lifesite news reported:

"US Senator Ken Salazar, a staunch supporter of abortion, has labelled the Christian group Focus on the Family, "the antichrist of the world".

"The right-wing part of the Republican Party and the so-called Christian conservative organizations like Focus on the Family have essentially tried to hijack the American government."

Hey Salazar get a Clue: ONE NATION UNDER GOD....

CONGRESS DECLARES BIBLE"THE WORD OF GOD"
PUBLIC LAW 97-280 OCT. 4, 1982

Public Law 97-28096 STAT. 121197th Congress

Joint Resolution

Authorizing and requesting the President to proclaim 1983 as The "Year of the Bible"
Whereas the Bible, the Word of God, has made a unique contribution in shaping the United States as a distinctive and blessed nation and people;

Whereas deeply held religious convictions springing from the Holy Scriptures led to the early settlement of our Nation;

Whereas Biblical teachings inspired concepts of civil government that are contained in our Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States;

Whereas many of our great national leaders-among them Presidents Washington, Jackson, Lincoln, and Wilson-paid tribute to the surpassing influence of the Bible in our country's development, as in the words of President Jackson that the Bible is "the rock on which our Republic rests";

Whereas the history of our Nation clearly illustrates the value of voluntarily applying the teachings of the Scriptures in the lives of individuals, families, and societies;
Whereas this Nation now faces great challenges that will test this Nation as it has never been tested before; and

Whereas that renewing our knowledge of and faith in God through Holy Scripture can strengthen us as a nation and a people: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the President is authorized and requested to designate 1983 as a national "Year of the Bible" in recognition of both the formative influence the Bible has been for our Nation, and our national need to study and apply the teachings of the Holy Scriptures.

As Colorado Attorney General Salazar's pro-abortion position was well known. During his election campaign Salazar said that he would "defend the constitutional right" to abortion and that he did not support "mandatory waiting periods, spousal consent, biased counseling requirements or other extreme limits on abortion rights."

Hospital to end life support

Spiro Nikolouzos' Family is fighting for his life again. Jannette Nikolouzo has been married to Spiro for 34 Years.

Spiro a retired electrical engineer suffered brain damage after a motor vehicle accident more then 10 years ago. He has been deemed PVS since 2001.

In March St.Lukes hospital informed Jannette they were terminating Spiro's Feeding Tube.

Jannette had 10 days to find another facility. Avalon Place, a Nursing home agreed. However he developed pnuemonia and had to be transferred to the hospital for treatment. He went to Southeast Baptist Hospital , where he was put on a ventilator . He has been having problems with the "G" tube, and the hospital utilized intravaneous feedings instead.

Now S.E. Baptist wants to terminate his care. Avalon will take him back only if he has a "G"tube.

It appears the hospitals in Texas are walking in step with Texas Futile Care Law which President Bush, then Govenour passed , which states hospitals have the right to end life care if a patients quality of life is too low, and whether or not they can pay for the medical expenses.

Further investigation shows that "TEXAS RIGHT TO LIFE" HELPED IN WRITING THE BILL.

The problem with all these "futile care bills*" are the words...

"*"Life-sustaining treatment" means treatment that, based on reasonable
medical judgment, sustains the life of a patient and without which the patient
will die. The term includes both life-sustaining medications and
artificial life support, such as mechanical breathing machines, kidney dialysis
treatment, and artificial nutrition and hydration."

Since when is nutrition and hydration artificial? Dialysis can sustain a patient until a compatible donor can be found. In an effort to put an end to all this game playing I propose we start Re-writing these bills to remove such clauses as artificial nutrition and hydration. (It is a foot in the door, until we can eliminate them altogether.)

For the record. MY DAUGHTER KNOWS IF I BECOME INCAPACITATED I WANT TO REMAIN ON LIFE SUPPORT BY ANY AND ALL MEANS, UNTIL SHE IS SURE MY ACTUAL BRAIN IS DEAD! (That giant sucking sound you hear is Momma sucking the life out of the system on her way out, she despises the way things are in this world that much!..:-)

Complaints filed over live-birth abortion

Angele the woman whose baby was born alive during a botched abortion earlier this month, is filing charges against EPOC Womens Center.

The complaint filed Wednesday with the Department of Health is against Harry Perper, M.D., who performed the first-day procedures but was not present the second day, and against James Pendergraft, M.D., who owns and supervises the clinic.

Among the violations are the complete absence of a doctor during the abortion procedure, causing a death certificate to improperly state that Rowan was stillborn, and a complete lack of post-operative care. Angele did NOT receive the required Rhogam shot for mothers who are RH Negative.

The Complaint also cites the unsanitary condition of the clinic, which includes dried blood on the floor as well as a bloodied cotton ball.

Said The Rev. Patrick Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition ,
"It is barbarous to realize that this young child could have been saved if only
clinic personnel had responded in a professional and timely manner. This tragic
death shows that abortion clinics across the country are not committed to
'choice' as they often state, for the mother wanted to save this child, but
rather are dedicated to a culture of death that results in violence against
children and the exploitation of women. We are calling for a full investigation
into this horrific death and pray that action is taken that would prevent it
from ever happening again."

Troy Newman, director of pro-life group Operation Rescue:
"Baby Rowan failed to receive compassion and justice in his short life here on
earth. So together with his mother, Operation Rescue, will work passionately to
ensure he receives the justice he clearly deserves. We are calling for the
prosecution of all those involved in this horrible crime and are imploring
officials to use all legal avenues available to them...."

Update on Mae Magouirk

Email From Ken This a.m.

Mae is doing Well. She is eating, and her aortic dissection is healing nicely. Dr.Aquel has said Mae can be moved back to Ga.

She is sitting up in a chair; eating food; her aortic dissection is now contained; she is neurologically intact yet it will take 2 more weeks of hospital care and another month or two of nursing home care BEFORE she is totally able to be independent and be responsible for herself again (because of ALL the morphine and malnourishment.)

Ken has asked that we watch and contact Dr. Stout, the Dr. who put her in the Hospice and RESPECTFULLY let him know that we are still monitoring this case and will not have Mae back in hospice under a death watch situation again. PLEASE PEOPLE BE RESPECTFUL!~(Emphasis mine)~

Ken: My Aunt may be moved back to Georgia soon (an OK move and Dr. Aqel "my Doctor" has mandated no Hospice and he must approve the hospital and regimen of care) to a hospital near her home.

Please help us contact Dr. Robert Stout (in a respectful manner) and convey to him that THE WORLD IS WATCHING HIM and that because of his past actions, it would best if he (Dr. Robert Stout) stay away from Mae Magouirk's care and thus disassociate himself with her medical care in ANY AND ALL WAYS.

Judge: Only Parents Can Remove Life Support From Son

HAT TIP: Straightupwsherri

The Bronx-WABC, April 25, 2005) — The ruling for a 13-year-old on life support since last week is in. The judge says only the boy's parents can decide whether to turn the machines off, and doctors must honor their wishes.

Eyewitness News reporter Joe Torres is at Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx.

Eyewitness News Video

Teron is not on life-support, Teron is dead - those are the words of the medical director here at the Montefiore Medical Center, who earlier told reporters that Teron was declared dead on Thursday of last week, and they say the reason the teenager is still on what they call organ-support is to give the Francis family time to come to grips with the teenager's death.

Francis' Brother: "I just want my brother back and whatever happens, I just hope a miracle happens."

Teron Francis' mother and brother emerged from Bronx Supreme Court happy with a judge's ruling. Moments earlier Judge Douglas McKeon decided to keep in place a restraining order preventing doctors here at Montefiore Medical Center from removing the respiratory equipment attached to their loved one. ...

Judge McKeon visited Teron at Montefiore late Friday night. ~~Judge Greer NEVER visited TERRI~~ Doctors said a dental infection spread to the brain, leaving the teen in a coma. But the hospital disputes the family's claim that doctors planned on removing the ventilator from Teron following a diagnosis of "brain dead."

Dr. Gary Kalkut, Montefiore Medical Center: "We would never pull the plug, as it's been quoted, remove the ventilator, in the face of family objection. We wouldn't do that - that's our policy and we continue to do that to this point." ..... ~ YEA RIGHT!~

Bob Genis, Family's Lawyer: "A hospital can go to court and ask for permission to terminate life support, but the hospital didn't go to court to do that. They just told the family they were going to do it."

This weeks Spotlight: Steven Curtis Chapman

I thought Perhaps once a week I could find a positive Spotlight article, in relation to abortion/adoption. This article comes from AGAPE PRESS.

CCM's Steven Curtis Chapman Shares His Heart for Adoption

It really was no surprise when earlier this year, the five-time Grammy
award winning Christian contemporary artist
Steven Curtis
Chapman
played to a sold out concert hall at Continental Airlines Arena in
East Rutherford, NJ. He's sold over nine million records in his career with one
album certified platinum and two certified gold.

What might have been a surprise to some concert-goers, however, was
Chapman's repeated emphasis on adoption during the concert. It's a theme he has
threaded through many of his newer songs such as, "What Now?" and "When Love
Takes You In."

But his passionate advocacy for adoption is much more than material for a
few hit songs. It's a way of life for the Chapman family.

In addition to their three biological children, the oldest of whom
attends Baylor University in Waco, Texas, they have adopted three orphan girls
from China. "I've been buying diapers and formula for the past 18 years," he
said jokingly at his concert at West Point Military Academy in West Point, NY,
on April 2 during a 15-minute heart-to-heart chat with the audience between
sets.

Chapman uses his concerts to foster awareness about adoption and to raise
money for
Shaohannah's Hope, the adoption foundation he and his wife, Mary Beth, started several years ago. Named after their first adopted daughter, Shaohannah's Hope was created to offer financial assistance by providing grants ranging from $2,500 to $5,000 to families who were willing to adopt but could not afford the expenses involved....

My wife and I were among the 20 or so volunteers who manned several booths
at the February 26 concert in East Rutherford. We worked the booth at the main
entrance to the concert hall. Before the concert and during intermission,
interested people thronged around us to learn more about adoption. Many were
also eager to make a donation. Some joined the Stevey Joy Club, named after the
Chapman's second adopted daughter, by pledging $20 monthly for a year. Others
gave a one-time gift. One person handed me a check for $2,500.

Chris and Stacy Garrison are beneficiaries of Shaohannah's Hope. They
received a $2,000 grant towards the adoption of their daughter. They are hoping
to travel to China this summer.

The Garrisons are on the ministerial staff at the Madison Avenue Baptist
Church in Paterson, NJ. They were also among the volunteers at the East
Rutherford concert. "We were thrilled at the opportunity to work at one of the
booths," they told me. "Just think, we have a chance to make a difference in the
life of a Chinese orphan we may never meet until we get to heaven."

To date, Chapman's "All Things New" tour has raised almost $2 million
towards the goal of $2.5 million. But the goal of Shaohannah's Hope is more than
simply taking money from the generous and redistributing it to the needy.
Chapman is also interested in creating a desire in the hearts of
concert-goers to examine the question of adoption for themselves and their own
families....

Chapman describes adoption as "a perfect picture of what God has done for each of us in making us His children through Christ." He's on solid biblical footing. In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul describes a Christian's relationship to God as an
"adoption, as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of
His will."

Chapman has bigger plans for the future. There's talk of his foundation
possibly building a clinic in China for special-needs orphans. And he's trying
to gain more exposure among the Chinese people. "He's learning Mandarin,"
Hasenbalg says. "A friend of his is helping translate some of his songs into
Chinese. Steven is hoping to be invited to play at the 2008 Olympics in
Beijing."

Explains Chapman: "When Mary Beth and I adopted our daughter,
Shaohannah, we realized that it was only through obeying God's gentle call on
our lives that we were able to experience His blessings and goodness in this
miraculous way. We can honestly say it is through adopting Shaohannah, Stevey
Joy, and Maria Sue that we have truly seen the face of Jesus."

Besides Enjoying Stevens music, I have a more profound respect for a man and his wife who opentheir hearts and their doors to child who need a home.

United Nations Plans to put Abortion Drug on List of Essential Medicines

United Nations Plans to put Abortion Drug on List of Essential Medicines
WASHINGTON, April 25, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) -

The World Health Organization (WHO), the health branch of the United Nations maintains a list of drugs which it considers most important for health care. The Model List of Essential Drugs was established in 1977 and includes a long roster of analgesics, vaccines and anti-malarial drugs. Since the introduction of the deadly abortion drugs mifepristone and misoprostol, there has been a concerted lobbying effort by abortion organizations to get approval for it to be included in the list.

The WHO application report dated January 2005, said that in developing countries, of the 182 million pregnancies occurring every year, 20% end in abortion and that almost 80% of all abortions are conducted in developing countries. Without specifying the medical difference between 'safe' and 'unsafe' abortion, the report claims that about 68,000 women die each year from "unsafe abortion."

The solution offered by WHO for such a deplorable death rate is not to stop the practice of abortion but to include Mifepristone and misoprostol among the WHO's list of 'essential medicines.' What is not included in the report, however, is the testimony from the many doctors who have said the drug is too dangerous for women, or any mention of the several deaths it has already caused in countries where it is legalized, including Canada.

It has been commented many times that the UN's pressure on sovereign countries to introduce abortion has flagrantly disregarded the laws of those countries. Revealingly, the report comments on availability of abortion in those countries where it is 'considered' illegal.
The WHO committee, which included two British and two US experts, recommended unanimously that the pills go on the essential medicines list.

The Guardian, one of the most dedicated supporters of abortion in the media of the UK, reports that the US department of Health and Human Services has been attempting to block the progress of the deadly abortion drugs onto the list.

Mother wants £250,000 for failed abortion

This is a first!

A mother who gave birth to a twin girl after an abortion failed is suing the hospital for £250,000 to help bring up her daughter.

Stacy Dow discovered she was expecting twins when she was 16 and decided, because of her age and inability to support a child, to have an abortion.
The procedure was carried out when she was around seven weeks pregnant and she was given a contraceptive injection afterwards.

She was told it could cause side-effects, including weight gain, but when she returned to her doctor after 33 weeks she was told she had put on weight because one of the twins had survived. She gave birth to her daughter, Jayde, who is now three, in August 2001 at Perth Royal Infirmary, and is suing Tayside University NHS Trust in a legal action believed to be the first of its kind in Britain.
Miss Dow, now 20, who lives with her parents, Douglas, 40, and Barbara, 41, in Perth, said: "They told me in the hospital that the operation had been successful and there was nothing left in the womb.
"I never had any reason to doubt that and I just put my weight gain and a lack of periods down to the contraceptive injection they gave me.
"When I got to 33 weeks I went to the GP again and he told me I was pregnant. I was absolutely stunned. I didn't know what to say or do. It was obviously too far on to do anything.......

......"I had no option but to go through with the birth. I had never been given any warning that the termination might not work properly. I only had a few weeks to prepare for Jayde's arrival. I just couldn't get my head around it. I had never even considered having children. I was too young.
"Although I love her to bits, I have a child now that I wasn't planning to have and I believe the hospital should take some responsibility.....

I have one Question, For people who opt for abortion who say they have no choice...

WHAT'S WRONG WITH ADOPTION??????
Adoption used to be a choice for a lot of girls who found themselves with unwanted pregnancies. There are hundreds of Loving Couples who cannot have their own kids, who would be willing to open their hearts to a baby!
That old excuse about not having a choice is getting old. Even in the case of ANGELE and Baby ROWAN she had a choice of carrying the baby to term and giving him up for adoption. The couples who wish to adopt, also go as far as paying the moms expenses so there is NO burden to her financially and NO reason to Abort.

Abortion Gone Wrong. Baby Alive.

I woke this morning, grabbed my coffee, cigarettes, sat at the pc and started out the usual routine. I opened up WND to read this morning's headlines. I had planned to read the news and then upload some more images to my blog. That changed when I opened the front page to screaming headlines. Abortion staff ignores baby boy born alive? What? I opened the page, not expecting to see such a detailed first hand account of what happened to this mother and her baby. Last night while perusing abortion pictures, I actually got sick and starting wretching, something that I never did before, This morning my day starts off with tears, Lots of them.
Grab some tissues, and read this story, IF this doesnt make you think twice about abortion, nothing will.

A woman who was scheduled to have her 22-week-along pregnancy ended at a Florida abortion clinic instead delivered the baby alive in a restroom and says her pleading for help from medical staff went unheeded, even when an employee saw that the tiny boy was moving. ...

The woman chose the EPOC Clinic of the Orlando Women's Center in Orlando, Fla., because employees there had convinced her that her unborn baby would feel no pain during the procedure and because the "staff seemed caring," Angele told WND.

WorldNetDaily obtained a narrative Angele wrote that describes the two days, April 1 and 2, she went to the clinic after traveling to Florida from her home state.

"I counseled with a pretty and petite younger black woman who has a small son," Angele wrote of her first visit. "Her name began with an L. I do not remember her full name. She explained the process of laminaria insertion. I asked her other questions such as, will they inject saline or urea into the amniotic sac? I was concerned that it would hurt the baby as it generally (from what I've read) burns the skin and lungs. I expressed my concerns that he not suffer or feel anything."
The purpose of inserting laminaria is to dilate the cervix overnight in preparation for the abortion. Angele explained she chose the "labor and delivery process" for her abortion "as opposed to partial birth or having to dismember the child to retrieve him from the uterus/birth canal."

Angele, who is in her 30s, says she was given Valium "to relax me for the laminaria insertion."
"The injection burned a lot as it went in. I asked something about potassium chloride [digoxin] but couldn't remember what the attendant said because she was answering me while I was receiving a local anesthetic into my cervix. The discomfort was distracting. I still felt the 'lams' as they were being inserted. Dr. Perper told me to relax my muscles and noted that my cervix was slightly soft. I asked him what that meant and he said it was good."
Digoxin is the drug injected into an unborn baby to cause his or her heart to stop in preparation for what amounts to a stillborn birth. Angele says despite having asked for it, she did not receive the digoxin injection, which she surmises caused the baby to be born alive.
Referring to the digoxin injection, Angele told WND: "They didn't do it."

She says she overheard staff talking about "dig-ing" her – injecting the digoxin – but, after taking a sonogram initially and then quickly taking the machine to another room, the staff, she says, failed to return it to her room. A sonogram machine is used to guide the needle into the unborn baby's heart.

Part of Angele's concern prior to going to Florida was that the baby would be born alive, and she asked clinic personnel beforehand how that is handled.

"I wanted it to be as humane and painless as possible for my son," she said, choking back tears. "They told me they would guide a needle directly into his heart and it would put him to sleep, and he wouldn't feel anything."

Harry Perper, M.D., is the doctor who inserted the laminaria, a man Angele described as "a very fast-moving, hyperactive type of person."
Angele says the staff then gave her some medication to take early the next morning and told her to return the following day.

Wrote Angele: "My friend and I took a taxi back to our hotel. We rested up a bit, changed and walked to a nearby restaurant for dinner. That night, all night off and on I could feel the baby still moving. I told my friend this worried me. I remember thinking it must take time to slow down and stop his heart. I was still a little 'out of it' from the medicine and just figured I must have been mistaken about how the digoxin was supposed to work. He was still moving when I went to sleep. I was concerned and started to call the after-hours line, but again second-guessed myself."

In the 'delivery room'

The next day, Angele says, she took three pills meant to induce labor at 5 a.m. and another at 8 a.m. before arriving at the clinic shortly before 9.
"I waited outside, cramping and crying, for the clinic to open," Angele explained. "My contractions were close. I had been having them for hours. I knocked repeatedly at the door. There was a burgundy truck in the parking lot. Ten to 15 minutes later, Debbie opened the door and let me in.

"I was directed to 'the room.' I had been there for a moment the day before and thought it to be a waiting room for family or driving companions. It had a leather sofa and a fabric sofa, both with a white blanket stretched across the seat cushions, a small television and a few magazines."
However, noted Angele, "It was not a waiting area – it was the 'delivery room.' It was, of course, very cold."

After being given a wet blanket and a heating pad, Angele says, she was told the doctor wouldn't be in until 2 p.m. – "and that even if I had delivered by then I would need to stay until I could be examined."

Wrote Angele: "My contractions became stronger and more frequent very rapidly. I called for [staff member] Violene, thinking it was time to be moved into another room and wanting to know if I could have anything for pain. She said that medication would stop the contractions and for me to stay right there and again, she would be back.
I told her it was almost time; I could just tell, and she told me I was not at all ready. She left. I began to bleed."

After going to the bathroom, Angele says, "I came back to the sofa, (they both really smelled awful), wrapped up in the wet and sour-smelling blanket, then decided it was better without it. I rocked back and forth on my hands and knees, trying to hold the heating pad to my stomach to both relieve the pain and try to stay warm.

I was looking down and saw little smears and spots of dried blood on the floor and an old cotton ball with blood on it by the fabric-covered sofa across from me. Noticing how dirty it was and how no one was in the room or even nearby in the hallway began to make me nervous and uncomfortable.

I went right back to the powder room and began to try to push a lot. I thought it might help since I was told I was not nearly ready deliver."

Crying out in pain, Angele says she could feel a contraction coming: "In one agonizing push, I felt and heard something come out. Then immediately another push. I was weak.
I just held my head in my hands for a moment.
Then I decided to stand up. I looked. There was my baby, the whitish cord and what I thought surely must be the placenta.
"I started sobbing and lay down in the floor. I stared and stared at my son. I was horrified that I had just had him in a commode."

Baby Rowan Posted by Hello Story Continues Below Picture

Born alive

Angele explained what happened next to her and her boy, whom she named Rowan:
His right leg moved. He curled up a bit like he was cold; I screamed for Violene! No one came. I managed to get to the doorway, pants down, blood everywhere and yelled again. I went back to my baby. I heard her say she'd be right there.

I showed her Rowan, told her he was alive and moving and to call 911! She took a quick look, said he's not moving now and she'd be back to take care of things while walking out. I called her again. I was touching Rowan softly and he moved again. I called her back. Rowan jumped, I think startled by the loud sound of my calling for help. I showed her that he was moving and alive. I begged her to hurry and call 911, now!

She said for me to lie down and she would get her supervisor. No one came.

I continued to try to caress and comfort my son by rubbing his back, tummy and chest. I stroked his precious little head and kept telling him I loved him and we would be OK. I was afraid to move him because I did not want to do anything that might end up hurting him. I pushed my pinky into his little hand and his fingers curled around me. Still no one was coming. I was terrified but trying not to let him know I was scared. I kept telling him what a beautiful son he was and that we were going to be safe soon.

Angele says she then figured out a way to call for help.

"I left Rowan for two seconds, grabbed the phone, jumped back into the bathroom to be with him, calling my girlfriend 'Sharon' at the same time," she wrote. "I told her Rowan was alive and no one was helping us to please call an ambulance to the clinic immediately and hung up.

"I stayed beside Rowan talking to him, telling him how strong he was being and how proud I was of him. I told him God must really want us to be together for him to make it through everything he had just been through and that Mommy was so sorry but so happy to have a chance to love him. I told him he was a strong little miracle and that I couldn't wait for him to meet his brother and sister. I just kept touching him, trying to warm him with my hands and talking to him so he would not feel any more afraid than he already must.

"Then Rowan stopped moving."

At that point, Angele says, she "rocked him and prayed" before bathing the baby and cutting the umbilical cord.

Wrote Angele: "He was perfect, slightly pale and a little translucent. His eyebrows were pale but wide and well-defined. You could see little hairs on his face and head. He had the tiniest little fingernails and toenails. I noticed they already had a little bit of growth. His mouth was lovely. He was this perfectly formed one pound, one ounce human being. He was beautiful. He had been so strong.

"I wrapped him in [a] blue pad instead of one of the wet blankets. I just kept kissing him and telling him I loved him so much. I told him I was sorry I couldn't get anyone to help us and I was so sorry for ever coming here."
At that point, Angele says, staff member Debbie came in a demanded to have the baby. Angele refused.

"Oddly, she came back within two or three minutes," Angele wrote. "She was more irritated and insistent than before. I was irritated that she was rushing me and that she did not seem to be in such a hurry when Rowan was alive. Where was she when Violene was supposedly going to get her and we needed her help? She asked again to take him. I flatly refused her. I could tell she was angry. I did not care. I told her that I expected her to leave me alone so I could finish praying with Rowan and that we needed privacy."

Angele says she then went back in the bathroom and blocked the door firmly with her back so no one could bother her.

Wrote Angele: "I was staring at my son, crying softly and noticing the dried blood on the walls. I felt so bad. I felt so helpless. I had been so wrong to come here and yet I felt so lucky to have my son born alive. I wanted to fix and change everything once I saw his precious little face and body. All we needed was someone to get us to safety. I felt so awful that the only thing I could do was tell him we were going to be OK and that would be together forever, that we were strong and a good team.

"I wondered if babies went immediately to heaven. Are they immediately given wisdom, perspective and understanding? Could Rowan see that I loved him? Could he see that I wanted him with me and that I tried to help him stay with me? Could he see everything that happened while he was here?"

Angele's friend "Sharon" arrived and reportedly agreed that Rowan "was a gorgeous little baby."

Surprisingly, Angele said, the police came to the clinic instead of an ambulance.
"The police asked if I would like them to take Rowan to the funeral home," she wrote. "I told them that I had made previous arrangements for him to be picked up by the funeral director."
Angele says her friend overheard a staff member saying she did not see the baby move, a contention that angered the distressed mother.

"I saw Violene one more time, and I was furious after what 'Sharon' told me," Angele wrote. "I spoke to her telling her how little I appreciated them telling the police my child was not alive. I stared hard at her and said, 'Violene you saw him moving. That is when you were supposedly going to get your manager and "take care of it." You stayed away until Rowan died. I don't care what you say, you and I both know he was very much alive. We know the truth.' She said nothing and turned away.

"They gave 'Sharon' a bag with my medicine and we left. Oddly enough, they no longer needed me to be seen by the doctor at 2 p.m.," Angele wrote, saying the staff just wanted her "to leave as quickly as possible."

'I didn't see any other way out'

Angele, who is divorced, is the mother of a son and daughter.
She described the pregnancy as the result of "forcible, non-consensual sex." It took weeks of counseling before she made the decision to have an abortion, she explained.
"I didn't see any other way out," Angele told WND.

Angele explained that she researched the various second-trimester abortion methods to determine which would be best in her situation.

"Although 'labor and delivery' is most difficult on the mother," she explained, "it seemed to be the best choice for my son. And it would allow the opportunity for my son to be born whole, stillborn, and I could hold him and grieve him and have him cremated."
Angele says she named her baby ahead of time and made a lot of plans because, she said, "I wanted him to go from my tummy to heaven in the most dignified way possible."
A Christian, Angele told WND: "I chose Bible verses for his service and everything." ...

.....Remembering her experience after Rowan's birth, Angele said: "The first two times I told Violene to call 911, I thought she would. It hadn't crossed my mind that she wouldn't. … It finally dawned on me: They're not going to help me save my son." That's when Angele called her friend and asked her to call 911.

Speaking of her Christian faith, Angele said, "I know you're thinking, 'How can a Christian possible make that decision?' – but I think it happens a lot more often than you think."

James S. Pendergraft, M.D., is the founder of the Orlando Women's Center and is known in pro-life communities as the "Tiller of Florida" because he performs late-term abortions. Abortion @ 22 Weeks = 5 1/2 Months Posted by Hello

Another "Terri"
An emergency hearing was held at a Bronx hospital Friday night
after the
family of a brain-dead boy alleged that the hospital had
threatened to remove
him from life support against their wishes. The unusual
hearing came after
relatives of Teron Francis, 13, obtained a court order
prohibiting Montefiore
Medical Center from disconnecting his
respirator.

About two dozen relatives stood outside the hospital,
prevented by police
from attending the closed hearing. A hospital spokesman
said the hearing was
being held in a small conference room, with only the
judge, attorneys, doctors,
the boy's mother, Marcerlyn Francis, and a
stenographer in attendance.

Shortly after midnight the judge told
about two dozen of the relatives
assembled in the lobby that the hospital
would not remove the boy from the
respirator. He also told them that he
would order an investigation into what
happened to
Teron."....

"The hospital wants to cut him off now, even though we
got a show cause
order to continue his life support," Genis said before
going into the 10:15 p.m.
hearing....

As for the
possibility of taking Teron off the respirator, Osborne
said: "It's
better to do it sooner than later because of the boy's condition.
When
you're brain dead, your organs just fade away slowly.

"Teron's complications began Monday after he was taken to
Bronx-Lebanon
Hospital complaining of a severe headache and toothache. The
family said doctors
conducted a CAT-scan and told relatives that an
infection had spread to his
brain.

After he went into
convulsions and became unconscious, Teron was hooked up
to a respirator and
transferred to Montefiore for surgery on Tuesday, his family
said.
"Something went terribly wrong because my brother was always conscious in
the hospital," said Teron's brother, Erron Francis, 24. "On Wednesday, they
were
calling us asking us about donating organs." (Story.....)

""It's better to do it sooner than later because of the boy's condition. When
you're brain dead, your organs just fade away slowly."" ~~Sounds Like an ORGAN HARVESTNG SCHEME!!!!~~

I would Like to ask, IS He REALLY BRAIN DEAD? If he is on a respirator and his heart is beating, then he would not be considered Brain Dead!? Unfortuneatly there are more questions then answers from this article. Going to the original article doesnt answer a lot of questions either.

Original

.......Teron, a seventh-grader at Community School 4, was taken to Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center on Monday complaining of a severe headache and toothache. The family said doctors conducted a CAT-scan and told relatives that an infection had spread to his brain.

After Teron went into convulsions and became unconscious, he was hooked up to a respirator and transferred to Montefiore for surgery on Tuesday, his family said.

On Wednesday, doctors told relatives he was brain dead.

On Thursday, Douglas said, a doctor at Montefiore told the family that New York State law empowers physicians to remove respirators from brain-dead patients after 24 hours. That's when Marcerlyn Francis, who did not consent to that move, contacted a lawyer.

The hospital disputes the family's account.

"I'm saying, unequivocally, we never ever intended to take Teron Francis off the ventilator," spokesman Steve Osborne said again yesterday. "That is not our policy. We just don't do that."

Ultrasounds~ The Window to the Womb~ and the Fight to Stop Them!

Pregnancy Resource Center Revealing life to save life.

Revealing life to save life.
From Pregnancy Resource Ministry

To date, tens of millions of preborn babies have been lost to abortion, and Focus on the Family has been laboring diligently to preserve the many other tiny lives that continue to hang in the balance. As we investigate ways to dissuade mothers-to-be from abortion, we've been extremely encouraged to learn that women who see their babies on ultrasound are far less likely to seek abortions than those without access to such an option.

In fact, a survey conducted by our Pregnancy Resource Ministry in the fall of 2003 revealed some astounding statistics. Out of 334 randomly selected pregnancy resource centers (PRCs) that were polled, 30 percent have ultrasound capability. These same centers reported that an average of 28 percent (and a median of 20 percent) of clients faced with a positive pregnancy test initially are abortion-minded. However, our survey results indicated that 79 percent of these clients (and a median of 90 percent ) decide to carry their babies to term after viewing an ultrasound. ...READ

Meanwhile in Jill Staneks Column this week, she speaks out about the recent increase in 3-D and 4-D ultrasound stores popping up everywhere and the pro-abortion lobbies attempt at shutting them down. After all we can't have pregnant woman and their friends and family looking at life-like pics and videos of the growing "BLOB OF TISSUE" now can we?
No longer will Babies first picture be the one taken in the hospital nursery or the one with the professional photographer that visits moms home, now a trip to the mall can show you a clear first picture of your bundle of Joy!

Elliot Spitzer NYS Attorney General, you know , the guy responsible for getting the credit card companies to stop paying for your cigarette purchases? Yea that Goober, he has already tried to shut down the "Window to the Womb!" , as did Illinois' AG Lisa Madigan. To Quote Jill the fight has taken a new turn, ...

Because keepsake ultrasound shops have operated largely unregulated to this point, pro-aborts are seeking not to standardize them, but to criminalize them through legislation, tacking on language they think will stop pregnancy care centers from using ultrasounds, too.
Mind you, there are no demonstrated risks from ultrasounds, which have been used in the medical field almost 50 years and have been studied ad nauseum.

So, in Illinois, fetusphobic state Rep. Rosemary Mulligan, who never saw a pro-life bill she didn't hiss at or a pro-abort bill she didn't rub her face in, with the encouragement of IIllinois Planned Parenthood, has introduced the toughest anti-ultrasound bill in the country to date, House Bill 2492. It would criminalize fetal ultrasound centers, and just to be sure, also prohibit doctors from writing referrals for keepsake ultrasounds.

One way to support the ultrasound movement is through Focus on the Family, which has launched an Option Ultrasound campaign.

Mayor Mike a pal to morning-after pills

Mayor Mike a pal to morning-after pills

Hoping to reduce unwanted pregnancies, Mayor Bloomberg yesterday became the first political leader in the nation to dedicate tax dollars to promoting the "morning-after" pill. The $3 million program, which includes offering advance prescriptions for the drug to women at city hospitals, was immediately blasted by conservatives.
Did you Get That? $$3,000,000!
3 MILLION DOLLARS !!!
Your Tax Dollars at work People!
The mayor said that of the estimated 215,000 pregnancies in the city last year, 130,000 were unintended - and 90,000 of those were terminated.
90,000 BABIES WERE KILLED!!!!
"I think it's outrageous, frankly, that we haven't done everything we can to reduce unintended pregnancies and the need for abortions~ NO YOU HAVEN'T! TEACH ORAL BIRTH CONTROL, JUST SAY NO! IT IS CALLED ABSTINENCE!~"It would be nice to see the City of New York talk about abstinence," said Conservative Party leader Mike Long, "and not send a signal to all our citizens - especially young people - that you can be irresponsible."So now your tax dollars will go to pay for abortion pills, isnt that nice! Whether you agree or not!

Bush pandering to pro-lifers again, too bad it is all just talk!

White House to Enforce Abortion-Fetus Law

The Bush administration said Friday that it would enforce a nearly 3-year-old federal law that requires doctors to attempt to keep alive a fetus that survives an abortion.

~ I have to ask first off, if this LAW has been in place for 3 years, why has it not been enforced sooner?!~

In making the announcement, the Department of Health and Human Services Department said it was an attempt to educate the public about the little-known law. Officials said they didn't know how often a fetus survives an abortion and would not say whether there have been any complaints about a lack of enforcement.
"As a matter of law and policy, the (department) will investigate all circumstances where individuals and entities are reported to be withholding medical care from an infant born alive in potential violation of federal statutes for which we are responsible," HHS Secretary Mike Leavitt said in a statement.

~Secondly I am NOT holding my breath on this, since Bush has signed in his "FUTILE CARE BILL" in Texas when he was Govenor, which other states are adopting in light of the EUTHANASIA MOVEMENT.! The Futile Care ill Gives Doctors the Right to Refuse Medical Treatment at their Discretion Concerning Quality of Life and Ability to Pay Your Bill~
