University of Colorado-Boulder Denying Pro-Life Display

From ADF: Email:

Whether it is the school’s sometimes troubled football team, or the comments of its tenured faculty member, Ward Churchill, who compared September 11, 2001 victims to “little Eichmanns,” the university has gained a lot of unwanted notoriety over the past several months. And, now, in a sad story that we KNOW is accurate, ADF and its allies are exposing the school’s hypocrisy when it comes to free speech, especially in the wake of its defense of Ward Churchill’s “freedom” to make his many controversial comments, while working on a campus paid for by Colorado’s hard working taxpayers.

Justice for All, a pro-life advocacy group, sought to bring its proven life-saving display to the Boulder campus, just as it had at the University of Houston and the University of Texas-Austin after ADF’s successful legal efforts on their behalf on those campuses.

The ministry submitted a request in mid-March to have equal access to campus facilities to erect its outdoor pro-life exhibit two weeks ago, April 18-21.

First, CU-Boulder officials denied Justice for All’s requested event date. Then, on April 5, they denied the groups requested location, even though the group had peacefully put up its display there in a prior school year. The officials assigned the group to a much more remote location that receives far less pedestrian traffic and is not large enough to hold the full exhibit.ADF attorneys sent a letter to the school in an attempt to resolve the situation, but were rebuffed by the CU-Boulder administration. With no willingness shown by the university to resolve the matter, ADF attorney Jeremy Tedesco, along with allied attorneys Jim Spencer and James Rouse, filed a lawsuit against the university in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado on behalf of the free speech/equal access rights of Justice for All.

The press release can be found here.

I have tried to find out who at the University is responsible for this. I found the chancellors email address. I figure it is worth a shot. Our Universities, and Colleges, should not be a social engineering grounds for the likes of ward churchill, While Silencing Pro-Life Exhibits. Free Speech is for Everyone.
