Newborn baby found abandoned near dumpster

A newborn baby was abandoned in the alley of a business, in Houston Texas yesterday.

"She appears to be a white female or Hispanic female. We are not sure at this time. She appears to be hours hold," said Melvin Wallace with the Houston Fire Department.

Authorities say the baby may have suffered minor hypothermia. Her feet were blue when she was found.

She was found by Chris Patten who works at Cyberium, an Internet gaming center. Chris just reported for work when his boss asked him to put the trash in the dumpster.

It was then at the foot of the steps that he saw what he thought was a doll.

"I got closer and I saw her hands move and I thought, 'Oh my God,'" said Patten. He called his boss who called authorities.

The baby is expected to be OK!
